A TEMPO PERCUSSION is a Peruvian business specialized in the design and production of Percussion Instruments, primarily of wood.
The objective of A TEMPO PERCUSSION is to offer the musician various sounds, shades and colors which will enhance the music it generates, as well as encourage their imagination.
In 1997, Alexis Castaneda, economist, luthier and Peruvian musician, begins creating Peruvian Cajons, with guidance from the great “Cajoneador” Eusebio Sirio "Pititi" one of the finest exponents of the Peruvian Cajon. Being the 3rd generation of Carpenters in the Castaneda family, Alexis utilizes the skills attained in the woodworking for the design and production of the Peruvian Cajons.
In 1999 he begins offering its instruments under the brand A TEMPO MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS, a name which soon would switch to A TEMPO PERCUSSION.
Throughout the years A TEMPO was listening to it's customers and perfecting the Peruvian Cajons, searching for ways to make it simpler to play, both for professionals as well as for those who are just beginning with this instrument.
A TEMPO Percussion began to utilize the "Lap Joint" technique of woodworking with different colors, developing creative designs, making each instrument a piece of art.
